Staff News for 2021/22

11 June 2021

It is the time of year when schools finalise staffing arrangements for the next academic year and I write with news for you all. In December 2021 Mr. Bennett will leave Caldicott to take up a post in a Hampshire, a part of the world that he and his family have always hoped to live one day. Plans are being drawn up to ensure we build on the successes of recent years in his department and we are confident that the pedigree of Caldicott and our location will draw a very strong field.

Some time ago you were informed of Mr. Wild’s plans to leave Caldicott this July. With the guidance of an external consultant to help us sift through a large number of outstanding applicants, we are soon to complete the recruitment process and news will follow forthwith.

Miss. Emma McDonald joins Caldicott from a primary school in Thames Ditton to work alongside Ma’am Barratt in 1st Form in September. Emma is a graduate of the University of Glasgow where she achieved a degree in Primary Education. Emma is a former gold medallist at the Commonwealth Regatta for rowing, former GB rower and is the current World Universities Champion. She also has a passion for music and has recently retired from rowing to focus on teaching.

Mr. Iain Fyffe will join the English Department in September. Iain is a graduate of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and then began his teaching his career at Grey High School for Boys (also his alma mater). Iain played provincial rugby in South Africa and also SANDF U21 rugby. Iain will join us from his current English post in Hong Kong.
