Spring Concert and Entertainment Evening 2020

11 March 2020

Throughout the academic year, Caldicott boys are offered many opportunities to learn music and drama and share their talents with the wider school community. One such opportunity was this term’s Spring Concert and Entertainment Evening. A joyous occasion of music-making and drama from a variety of vocalists, instrumentalists, ensembles and actors.

The evening began with the Brass Ensemble with The Magnificent Seven by Elmer Bernstein; a fantastic way to open the concert and set the mood for more to come. Other performances included music from the Clarinet Ensemble with Hungarian for Beginners by Jakob de Haan, Cooper House with their winning House Shout performance of Pompeii by Bastille, Archie W and Beau G with Tango by Jan Faulkner and Liam A on the trumpet with Can You Feel the Love Tonight by Elton John from the Lion King. The audience were also treated to a variety of LAMDA Drama pieces including Eddie M with Stage Struck by John Guillain and Hugo E with Jonsey by Tom Wells.

The Chamber Orchestra brought the evening to its conclusion with their version of Jean Michel Jarre’s Oxygene. An atmospheric performance with many instruments, sound effects, lights and smoke that left the audience in awe of what they were watching. A wonderful way to bring what was an eclectic and entertaining evening to a close.
