Caldicott’s Governing Council comprises a minimum of eight and maximum of fourteen governors, each of whom acts as a Trustee and Company Director. Governors are appointed for a five-year term which can be extended by one further term by mutual consent. They are all volunteers and very generously give their time and expertise gratis. Their short biographies are listed below.
The Council meets collectively at least three times each year with substantial work completed between meetings through a range of Governor-led sub-committees each of which is focused on a particular area of interest. Additionally, many of them visit the school frequently and assist with a wide range of core activities and business.

Mr MS Swift
NGC*Malcolm joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2010 and was Chair of the Finance Committee before becoming Chair of the Council in 2014. He is a former parent of four boys at Caldicott and has been associated with the School for over 20 years. He is an Executive Officer of McCormick & Co and an Independent Director to the Board of Devro Plc.
Mrs CJ Brough
MADCJ joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019 soon after her son left Caldicott. She is co-founder of BluntCommunications, managing social talent and casting brand campaigns.
Mrs BJ Hampshire
HR*, NGCBeverley joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2017 and is Chair of the School’s Human Resources Committee. A former parent at Caldicott, Beverley is the European Head of Real Estate at EY (formerly Ernst & Young) and has spent her career working in large and complex financial sector businesses. She has broad experience managing functional operations and implementing organisational transformation and people change strategies.
Mr EW Higgins
FEugene joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019. He is a member of the Senior Management Team supporting the Director of Pastoral Care and the Deputy Headmaster, with particular oversight of the co-curricular programme. Eugene read Chemistry at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and came to Harrow in 2001 to teach Mathematics. He was the Assistant House Master of Druries for three years before being appointed the House Master of Newlands in 2009. He is currently Director of Co-curriculum and Sixth Form Registrar. Eugene has coached teams in rugby, soccer, hockey and athletics, was Master in Charge of Swimming and Water Polo and a member of the English Schools Swimming Association for many years. As well as this, he is Master-in-Charge of the exchange programme for foreign students.
Mrs E Hungin
SB, NGCLiz has been a Governor of Caldicott for eight years. She has oversight of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Boarding. Born and brought up abroad, she is multilingual and has worked in settings where her languages were in constant use, including a ten-year post in the Commercial Section of the Colombian Embassy and thirteen years in the City, in the Corporate Finance division of Lazard Brothers where she also ran the Lazard Charitable Trust. She has two sons, both of whom attended Caldicott. She moved from West London to Seer Green in 2013, she is also involved locally in village life as Vice Chairman of the Parish Council and as an occasional maker of cricket teas for the Jordans Taverners Cricket Club. Her interests include travel, classical music and reading.
Mr G Marsh
NGC, EAGeorge joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2009 and contributes widely from his experience as a Preparatory School Headmaster. He started his career at the Dragon School. He then spent a decade in comprehensives before becoming Assistant Director of Studies at Millfield. He moved to become Head of Millfield Prep before completing his career as Head of Dulwich Prep in London. In addition, he is a Governor of Sherborne School and Chair of Trustees at Wilton’s Music Hall. Fishing, golf, cricket and grandchildren fill up the rest of his time.
Mr JS Moule
EAJohn has been a Governor at Caldicott since 2014. He started teaching (History and Politics) at Dean Close School in Cheltenham. He has been Warden (Head) at Radley since September 2014, via Headship (and deputy Headship) at Bedford and being a Housemaster and Head of Department at Stowe. His interests are wide-ranging: reading (Theology, Political Biography, P.G.Wodehouse, Murder Mysteries and sport); Arsenal and the Boston Red Sox, compulsive armchair sports viewing; bad golf and real tennis, membership of a local church and both directing and watching theatre. Not surprisingly, he is a passionate advocate of the benefits of single sex boys’ schools and boarding!
Mr AJ Murley
BE*Anthony joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019 and is Chair of its Buildings and Estate Committee. He is a former parent at Caldicott and lives in West London. He is a Chartered Surveyor and has a long-established business which structures and procures finance for joint ventures in commercial and residential property. He was educated at Oundle and Cambridge University, which he represented in several sports. Outside of work, he is a member of a leading amateur choir and a longstanding member of Hawks Club, MCC and Royal Wimbledon Golf Club.
JD Newton
E*Jonathan joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019 and is Chair of its Education Committee. He has over 30 years’ experience of teaching in the independent sector. He began his career at Latymer Upper School, where he worked for eight years before moving to Eton College in 2000. He was a Housemaster at Eton for 12 years, during which time he also completed a MA in Education Management and spent five years on the Eton Admissions Committee. He is currently Deputy Head (co-curricular) at Eton. Jonathan is well acquainted with former Caldicott students having had a number of Old Caldicotians in his house and in his rugby teams.
M Rana
F*Cliff joined the governing body in 2016 and is Chair of its Finance Committee. He is a Chartered Accountant, Senior Partner and Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP a leading professional services firm. He specialises in providing Audit & Advisory services to Banks and other Financial Institutions. He has worked with Deloitte ever since leaving University and has held a number of roles within the Firm. He has served some of the largest and most complex clients of the Firm and currently sits on the Global Financial Services Executive Committee. Cliff is married, has a son and a daughter and lives in Great Missenden. He was a parent at Caldicott from 2009 to 2016. His interests include watching a range of sports, travel, opera and ballet and eating out! He is also a Justice of the Peace.
Mrs VM Roddy
MAD*Tori joined the governing body in 2019 and is Chair of the School’s Marketing and Development Committee. She is Group Director of Marketing and Admissions for The Stowe Group (Stowe School, Swanbourne House School and Winchester House School) and sits on The Group’s Executive Leadership Team. She is also the Executive Leadership’s sponsor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. She studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Oxford, Business at Surrey and Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology at The Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham (MoD). She started her career in the education sector working for the University of Oxford and then Westminster School and over the last 25 years has specialised in fundraising, marketing and recruitment. Until 2019, she was Chair of Trustees for Buckinghamshire MIND and in her spare time she uses her training as a forensic archaeologist and anthropologist to volunteer on a number of research projects. Tori also enjoys running, reading, wild camping and walking.

Senior Leadership Team
Mr JM Banks MEd, FCCT
HeadmasterJeremy Banks was educated at an all boys prep school in Nottingham before boarding at Uppingham in the late 1980s. Having read Geography and Education at the University of Warwick, Jeremy was appointed to the post of Geography, Maths and Games teacher at Dulwich Prep, London. In his 10 year career in Dulwich, Jeremy was first Assistant Director of Studies for four years, then Housemaster for a further four years. Jeremy became Deputy Head of Beachborough School in 2006 and then Headmaster of the same school in 2013.
Jeremy completed a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership in 2010 for which he received a Distinction. As a serving member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) he has been Chairman of the Education Committee and a member of the organisation’s Council. Jeremy was named ‘Tatler Best Head of a Prep School 2020’ and he was proud that Caldicott was a finalist for ‘Independent School of the Year 2020’.
It has been a tremendous period of evolution at Caldicott since his arrival, as the school successfully blends the characteristics of a traditional prep school with a highly relevant education that prepares boys for a fast changing world. The Caldicott Way and core School Values go a long way to explain his philosophy and his thoughts about the purpose of this wonderful place.
Jeremy is married to Sophie, a serving prep school Head in her own right, and they have three daughters who keep him busy. When time allows, Jeremy can be seen running through Burnham Beeches.
Miss TR Naidoo MEd, FCCT
Senior Deputy Head (Academic), ScienceTheroshene Naidoo was educated in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2002. She is a Chemistry and Physics secondary school teacher and has taught boys-only since moving to the UK. After a year and a half teaching Chemistry and Physics at an all boys’ comprehensive school in south London, she moved to Northcote Lodge as Head of Science. She remained at Northcote Lodge moving from Head of Science to Director of Studies and then to Deputy Head before moving to Caldicott in September 2015 to become Senior Deputy Head (Academic). She has a MEd in Educational Leadership and is a trustee on the Board of Action Village India where her key focus is education.
Miss SJ Bisschop BA
Deputy Head (Pastoral), PSHEESarah Bisschop is our Deputy Head (Pastoral). She asserts that boys’ wellbeing is vital to achieving a happy boarding community; a belief underpinned by this quote from His Holiness the Dalai Lama: ‘The educational systems of the future should place greater emphasis on strengthening human abilities, such as warm-heartedness, a sense of oneness, humanity and love’. She has taught at Caldicott for many years, having held a number of positions in that time including Head of Year and Head of Geography and is currently a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family; she loves being outdoors and has a passion for long-haul travel.
Mr MJ Hutchings BA
Deputy Head (Management), Director of SportMatt Hutchings successfully juggles two key roles within the school as Deputy Head (Management) and Director of Sport. He began his Caldicott career as Head of Rugby in 2012. His sporting pedigree is exemplary and in his spare time is current England Counties Rugby U18 Assistant Coach. His teaching experience spans preparatory and senior education, and he has former management experience as Head of Physical Education & Head of Key Stage 4 Pastoral leader. His proudest Caldicott moments include winning Rosslyn park in 2014 & 2015 and winning Independent Sporting School of the year in 2019.
He is married with three children and his eldest son attends Caldicott.
Mr RPH Vickers BA, MA, FCMI
BursarRobin Vickers is the school’s Bursar and Company Secretary. He joined Caldicott in 2016 following a 35-year career as an officer in the British Army, retiring as a Colonel. This experience prepared him well for the varied challenges presented by the School and in particular the management of people, problem-solving and resource allocation. A former gappie himself, and the son of Prep School teaching parents, he draws on this, his own and his two sons’ more recent experiences at Prep schools, and degrees in Geography and Defence Studies, to navigate the myriad challenges and opportunities that come his way.
He is married with four children and has a passion for running, history, numismatics and dogs.
Mrs TED Goulden BA
Development DirectorTerra Goulden brings nearly two decades of fundraising expertise to her role as Director of Development for the Caldicott Foundation. She started her career in New York where she worked at Lincoln Center Theatre, learning from some of the best fundraisers in the business. After marrying an Englishman and relocating to London, she was lucky enough to spend the next several years working in the Development Office at the National Theatre during NT Future, a large-scale capital project. This was followed by a six-year stint in Los Angeles where Terra was Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at Center Theatre Group. Having moved back to the UK with her family in 2020, she decided to make a shift into the education sector and took the role of Director of Development for The Gold Standard Charitable Trust, the partner charity to what was then Alpha Plus Group.
Terra joined Caldicott in February of 2023 and has been busy creating the first ever Foundation Office. She has enjoyed immersing herself in the Caldicott community and is excited for all that is on the horizon for Caldicott in the coming years!
Terra served on the Board of Elysian Valley Arts Collective in Los Angeles. She has two young daughters who go to school in Beaconsfield.
Mr SW Brown BSc, MBCS
Director of IT, ScienceStuart Brown is our Director of IT. He was educated at Caldicott before going onto Radley College. After a year out, some of which was spent as a GAP at Caldicott, he studied Software Engineering at Durham University. Enticed back to Caldicott after his studies, he arrived in 2007 to teach Maths and Science for one year…
Today he predominantly oversees all things tech in the school, promoting innovative and effective use of IT in teaching and administration, developing bespoke systems, and delivering projects such as the recent 1:1 device rollout. He also enjoys many other responsibilities across school life, including the school’s videography, overseeing the technical aspects of school productions and coaching U11 cricket.
In his spare time he enjoys cooking and baking, oenology, and watching cricket.
Miss N Wright BA, Assoc CIPD
Human Resources ManagerNancy joined Caldicott as Human Resources Manager in 2013. Prior to this, her career as a generalist HR practitioner spanned commercial, charitable and FMCG sectors with Digital Computer Services, Quaker, PepsiCo and the Union of Brunel Students. She read English Literature at University and has a Diploma in HR Management.
Nancy is a keen cyclist, hill walker, an avid reader and pianist.
