Entry to Caldicott

Our aim is to make the admissions process as straightforward as possible, and I am always happy to answer any questions you may have. Due to the current lockdown, I am working remotely, but I can be contacted via email on [email protected] or by phone on 01753 649301.

The main points of entry to Caldicott are Year 3 (aged 7) and Year 4 (aged 8). However, we welcome applications from all ages (7 - 13), subject to places being available within that year group.

Parents can register with Caldicott at any time, but preferably at least a year before the anticipated start date. Once your son is registered and ‘in the system’, he will be invited to an assessment, which will take place during the autumn term preceding your preferred year of entry. So, for example, if you are interested in a place for your son for September 2021, we would ask that you register by October 2020 at the latest, in time to be invited to one of our November 2020 assessments.

From time to time, we receive new enquiries from families moving into the area, and we are happy to accommodate individual assessments by appointment, later on in the academic year; again, subject to the availability of places.

Our assessment mornings are relaxed affairs, with the aim of seeing the character of the boys shine through, as much as their natural intellect. Through a series of age-appropriate activities, which will include some Maths, some English and some problem-solving, we hope to identify emotionally intelligent boys, with an appetite for learning, who will thrive in the rigorous, yet balanced, academic environment of the school.
