5th Form Geography Field Work

17 June 2021

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, the 5th Form (Year 7s) carried out an investigation into the microclimates around the Caldicott school site, testing for variations in temperature, precipitation, and wind. The project itself will count towards 20% of their overall grade at Common Entrance and requires demonstrating excellent subject knowledge as well as a wide range of skills, such as problem solving, organising, teamwork and an ability to work under pressure. The two days of fieldwork will be followed by two weeks of analysis and a fieldwork write up, where the boys will use the data collected to test their hypotheses and give valid explanations to their findings. It was an excellent two days and a great experience for all the boys involved.
