House Drama Competition Finals

20 May 2021

After weeks of performances, the Finals of the House Drama Competition took place on Tuesday evening. The performances have all been recorded and you can watch by clicking the link below! With 120 boys entering the competition, Ma’am Duncan had the unenviable task of narrowing down the impressive participants to just 24 finalists (8 from the Lower School, 8 from the Middle School, and 8 from the Senior School). However, she called in outside help to adjudicate the highly anticipated Finals; Rebecca Clark, Stowe’s Director of Drama, kindly agreed to take on this responsibility.

For taking part in the competition the boys have also been earning their House valuable plusses. At each stage of the competition, the boys earnt the houses 10 points, with the total points scored sitting at 1870 before the Finals. We can now announce that taking the finals into account (where each performer was scored out of 40), the winning house is….

A massive congratulations to our finalists, it is clear that they really enjoyed the chance to perform in front of their peers. The Middle and Senior School boys performed on the night, while the Lower School boys’ performances were pre-recorded for Rebecca to judge. We’d also like to thank Rebecca Clark again for being our adjudicator! The winners can be found below, alongside the piece they performed:

Lower School - Zain M (You're a Good Man Charlie Brown adapted by Clark Gesner)

Middle School - Tom F (Beowulf by David Calcutt)

Senior School - Felix T (Hospital Food by Eugene O'Hare)

Overall Winner - Charlie S (Sucker Punch by Roy Williams)

Special Prize - Anand N (The First Landing by Antony Wieland)
