Senior Rugby Sevens at Port Regis

28 February 2013

For the first senior sevens outing of 2013, the Caldicott team performed well after a slow start to finish as the winners of the plate competition.

The team picked up after two defeats to go on to play some good sevens, moving the ball better as the tournament progressed and scoring a series of team tries through Revill, Mackaness and Martin-Zakheim. The team defended well through the impressive work rate of Prew, Acland, Curtis and Sellers, and eventually overpowered Clayesmore in the final.

The team were happy with victory, but know that more work is required as we move onto the Downs festival on Saturday.

Group games:

V Kingswood – Lost 7-24
V Colstons – Lost 7-19
V Hazlegrove – Won 15-0

Quarter final V Castle Court – Won 32-0

Semi-Final V Blundells – Won 24-12

Final V Clayesmore – Won 38-14
