Boarders' Mexican Fiesta and Quiz

26 March 2021

On Thursday night, the boarders had a final dinner together, before departing for their Easter break. It has been an unusual Spring Term to say the least, but in the past three weeks the boys have settled back into Caldicott life tremendously well. The Mexican-themed dinner was most definitely a well-deserved treat for the boys, and it was enjoyed with smiles and laughs as they tucked into their veggie enchiladas and sunrise mocktails. More appropriately themed food also complemented the dinner, with jalapeno tempura vegetables and nachos served with guacamole and sour cream dips. For a more ‘Tex-Mex’ style option, the boys could choose to have succulent chicken breasts stuffed with monterey jack cheese, topped with mozzarella.

Following the delicious feast, the boarders moved to the Centenary Hall, where the evening’s entertainment took place. The Boarders’ Quiz 2021 was a great success and boys enjoyed a great night of fun to see off the Spring Term. Mr Evans organised the event, with ten topics of questions including ‘Pupils’ Point of View’, where the boarders had to answer questions about how the rest of the school answered a survey, including scariest teacher (no surprises there…), favourite sport and funniest teacher (well done Mr Paget)! Ma’am Rule also organised a round where her brilliant class drew pictures of certain teachers and the boarders had to guess who was pictured. Alongside more traditional quiz rounds including Current Events, Music, and Geography, the boys had an evening to remember and the perfect end to the last three weeks of adjustment back into typical Caldicott life.
