Back to School

11 September 2020

It has been a busy week at Caldicott as we got ready for the boys to return to school.

Before the start of term, the boys who have been quarantining with us in the Boarding House were treated to a day out in Windsor. They explored the town and enjoyed some delicious ice cream to celebrate the end of their two week isolation and the start of term.

On Wednesday we welcomed all the boarders back to school. When they settled into their new dorms and learnt how to navigate around the ‘new normal’, they enjoyed a well-deserved activities session before supper. In the evening they were treated to a special Boarders BBQ to catch up with friends, meet new ones and relax. It was a lovely sunny evening and wonderful to see all the Boarders back at school again.

The day boys were back in force on Thursday, ready and eager to get back to school, see their friends and get stuck in with lessons. Thursday morning was dedicated to learning how they will now travel through the school keeping to their Year Group Bubbles and, in the afternoon, all boys took part in a special Tutor Time. Tutor Time is a Caldicott tradition at the start of every year to help boys ease their way into the new school year, bond with their Tutor, and meet any new boys who are joining their groups. There were lots of activities happening from playing games outside, a mini baking competition, playing board games, exploring the school grounds and making their own pizza.

It was wonderful to hear the noise of laughter permeating through the grounds and classrooms once again. This year maybe a bit different to others, but with our core values of perseverance, integrity, courage, compassion and humour, the boys will embark on a journey which will be one to remember.
