Caldicott Houses pulling together in the battle against Covid-19

28 April 2020

Usually in competition with one another, often in fiercely contested House events, this term our four Houses comprising: Cooper, McArthur, Jenkins and Wood are joining forces to help some of the most vulnerable in our society during our battle against Covid-19.

Our Housemasters, who have sought the opinions of the boys who sit on our Charity Committee, have chosen four charities which they feel allow us to help those who most desperately need our support at this time.

Over the course of this term we will be running a number of initiatives and fundraising events for the whole Caldicott community to get behind. We aim to raise money for these incredible charities whilst also raising awareness of the work that they do.

  • The Trussell Trust
Trussell Trust is working to stop UK hunger and poverty. Their network of foodbanks provides emergency food and support to people in crisis.
  • Frimley Health Foundation
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust provides NHS hospital services for around 900,000 people across Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and south Buckinghamshire. Wexham Park Hospital, where many of our boys have received treatment, is part of this foundation.
  • Refuge
Refuge is committed to a world where domestic violence and violence against women and girls is not tolerated and where women and children can live in safety.
  • Age UK Buckinghamshire
Age UK Buckinghamshire is an independent charity working in Buckinghamshire to offer support and services to older people. At this time many older people, who are the most vulnerable in this crisis, are facing months in isolation as they are shielded by their communities. The boys on our committee felt it was vital that we reached out to them and offered our support.

The school's Charity Committee will be announcing fundraising initiatives over the coming weeks. We thank you in advance for your support.
