Year 8 Soloist represents Caldicott at Windsor Festival

One of Caldicott’s top musicians, pianist Beau G has been very busy with his music recently. On Sunday 22 September he was invited to attend a recital by internationally renowned pianist Frederico Colli at Eton College. This concert was held to mark the arrival of the colleges new Fazioli piano in School Hall, and the programme included the famous Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, which Beau has performed at Caldicott in concerts.

Beau returned to Eton on Tuesday 24 September to participate in their Music Department Open Day for prospective music scholars, for which he hopes to audition next term. He enjoyed a tour of the college, met the music staff and had the chance to observe and take part in music making with current Etonian musicians.

Finally, on Saturday 28 September Beau performed at the Windsor Festival Schools’ Coffee Concert in Windsor Parish Church. The coffee morning concert presents a varied mix of choral, instrumental, ensemble and solo items, all performed by local children with all proceeds going to the Parish Church Organ Appeal. Beau played another Sonata movement by Beethoven: Allegro, from Sonata Op.2 in F minor. This was the third consecutive year a pianist from Caldicott has attended the festival and represented the school.

Well done to Beau for his performances and participation in all these musical events; a real ambassador for Caldicott music.
