Football for Charity

02 July 2019

As a final fundraising event for the year, Caldicott was delighted to host two charity football fixtures in aid of Great Lakes Outreach this week.

It was such a pleasure to welcome a number of Old Boys, and their parents, back to take part in the first fixture and also current parents who took on the Caldicott staff in the second.

In the Old Boys fixture, with mixed teams made up of boys who left in 2017 and 2018, there was much fun and laughter had out on the pitch. Although they were keen to show their skills, neither side was really out there to do anything more than have fun. Parents and boarders enjoyed spectating whilst the glorious summer sun beamed down. The final scores were 'Band of Broughers' 5, 'Dean’s List' 8.

Our annual Parents v Staff fixture followed directly afterwards and it was a highly competitive match, with the staff determined to come out on top after their crushing defeat last year. 60mins of action-packed football left the final result standing at Parents 0, Staff 5, much to the delight of the team Captain Mr Di Maso.

The event is hugely popular and the school raised £871.30 for the nominated charity for 2018/2019: Great Lakes Outreach.
