5th Form Residential Trip to Cornwall

01 July 2019

The 5th Form were enjoying the Cornish sun last week on their annual visit to Polzeath. Staying in static caravans, the boys enjoyed easy access to Polzeath beach and relished every opportunity to play beach sports, swim and search for crabs in the rock pools.

Throughout the week, they took part in a variety of activities as they learnt how to surf, sail and survive at sea with the RNLI. They also enjoyed banana boating, omnia boarding and paddle boarding as well. The boys also had the opportunity to visit to The Eden Project to explore the biomes and learn about sustainability and the many functions of some of nature’s best plants.

The boys fully engaged with all the activities, and indeed the Cornish way of life as they ate their Cornish pasties for lunch on Friday.

The week provided an excellent platform to demonstrate their suitability as prefects next year, with Mr Di Maso taking notes of who stepped up ready to take on those roles.

The boys enjoyed their independence in the caravans, but also had to be responsible for its cleanliness. This was perhaps not such an enjoyable experience, but was certainly an equally valuable one.
