3rd Former in new BBC drama

15 May 2019

Last year, Toby W (3rd Form), along with numerous other well-known actors filmed a new six-part BBC drama which will air next week. Summer of Rockets is a semi-autobiographical Cold War drama from Stephen Poliakoff - who's father was accused of bugging Sir Winston Churchill's hearing aid. Toby plays Sasha Petrukhin, the young son of inventor Samuel Petrukhin.

As well as Toby, Summer of Rockets stars Keeley Hawes, Toby Stephens, Timothy Spall, Mark Bonnar, Ronald Pickup and Claire Bloom. Toby was particularly thrilled to work with Claire Bloom who once starred in a film with Charlie Chaplin!

Although Toby missed some school to take part in this opportunity, he made sure he worked hard on set to catch up and stay on top of his classwork. He had great fun working on this drama and is very excited to finally be able to share this with his friends and with the school. We look forward to watching him on TV next week!

Summer of Rockets will air on Wednesday 22 May on BBC2 at 2100.
