The half term break is upon us, but most of the Caldicott community will continue balancing work and play. It is crucial that the boys recharge their batteries as the second half of term is demanding for a host of reasons, including exam week. With respect to exams, we must all support the boys in keeping a sense of perspective, with levels of expectation for revision being age related, no matter what the ambition. All boys have been benefitting from a tailored revision programme and with a sense of quiet determination they must now work hard to fulfil their potential. With those exams presenting a snapshot of a boy, their class work remains vital as evidence of the intellectual journey they are on.

As Headmaster, I must ensure all boys are engaged with being concerned with the human spirit as opposed to material or physical things. Christian values quietly influence everything we do at Caldicott. Last night’s charity walk promoted a sense of fellowship in appreciating our world’s beauty as we walked through Burnham Beeches. Going forward, I would welcome the views of parents in exploring spirituality and other faiths at Chapel on Wednesday evenings.

Thank you for the support you have given me this half of term. Caldicott is a special place and we are all excited about the journey that lies ahead. Truly knowing each boy as an individual, gifting each child with glorious opportunities and communicating this effortlessly to you is imperative.

Have a restful half term.
