Caldicott U11 boys win Rugby School Tennis Tournament

26 April 2018

Four U11 boys competed in the Rugby School Prep School Tennis Tournament on Wednesday 25 April coming away as winners.

They played six matches in total, three in the group stages, a quarter final, semi final and then the final.  Each fixture was broken down into a doubles match and two singles.  The overall points were added together to decide the winner with the doubles match worth double points.  During the group stage, the boys won all their fixtures playing some superb tennis throughout.  They went on to win in the quarter and semi-final, which then allowed them to proceed the final against the Perse Prep School. This was a tough fixture and the boys lost one singles match, but won the other singles and doubles fixtures, which made them champions overall. Well done!

Before the tournament, the boys also had the opportunity to take part in two training sessions with former GB international players.  The training sessions focused on cardio tennis, drills and games.

The day was a fantastic chance for the boys to improve their tennis, learn new skills and gain experience in competition matches against other schools and players.

The Headmaster gave the boys their medals and trophy in assembly this week.

The boys who took part were: Sebastian E, Hugo D, William D, Hugo E.
