Silk Ties by the 4th Form

14 March 2018

During their art lessons this term, the 4th Form have spent several weeks drawing natural objects using a variety of media and exploring different art techniques.

Once the boys had mastered these techniques, they then isolated parts of their drawings to use as inspiration for a new repeating pattern, which was then transferred onto a silk tie.  Once the design and colours were finalised, they began work on the silk itself.  To do this they used outliner and silk painting techniques.

The boys have created such wonderful designs, the finished ties can be seen at the top of the stairs to the Centenary Hall, and we welcome parents to come view them.
