Cadbury World

09 November 2017

On Monday 6 November, the 6th Form boys visited Cadbury World in Bourneville.  Cadbury World is one of their Common Entrance case studies and always proves to be a popular and very educational visit.

The boys visited the exhibition and factory in the morning, learning about the history of cocoa, the Cadbury family and the inputs, processes and outputs involved in the industry. They were able to watch a demonstration of how chocolate used to be made by hand and were treated to delicious liquid chocolate cups with an assortment of toppings!

The afternoon session involved an educational talk covering the economic sectors that exist, Cadbury’s owners Mondelez’s role within this, an introduction to cocoa farming in Ghana and the implications of globalisation and sustainability.

It was an excellent trip which was not only enlightening on many levels but also enjoyed by all.
