On Friday 4th March, the second form took part in the annual Declamations final, which was adjudicated by Head of English, Mr Evans. The entire year group had all previously learned a poem of their choice off by heart, and had been then whittled down to fifteen finalists. Each finalist gave a truly impressive performance on the day, and it was finally up to Mr Evans to make the extremely difficult and much unenvied decision of choosing a winner! In the end, it was A Stewart who received 1st place with his excellent rendition of Macavity: A Mystery Cat by T.S. Elliot, and G Turner who received 2nd place and S Edwards 3rd. All in all it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, and the boys each took away something valuable from the event.
