The Queen's 90th Birthday

To mark the Queen's 90th Birthday today Mr Doggart spoke about the Queen's life and some of her key moments as monarch. The whole school then stood to sing the national anthem.

The boarders will enjoy a special cream tea in the marquee this afternoon to celebrate the occasion!

Merchant Taylors' Prize

R. Randev was awarded a prize from Merchant Taylors' school for an outstanding performance in his geography entrance exam. He received the highest mark overall and achieved an A* grade.

Debate Mate

Over the holidays two Third Form boys took part in a debating competition ran by the organisation Intelligence Squared. The 'Debate Mate' competition was held at Latymer Upper School with around 300 children and teenagers participating  overall. S. Letts and T. Conyers got through three rounds of debating to reach the final where they came second. Congratulations!

Question of the Week

The Question of the Week before the Easter holiday was: Why do people still believe in God when there are wars happening in the world?

C. Spencer won with his thoughtful answer; "People still believe because when all hope is lost we need something to believe in."
