The creativity and talents of 1st Form boys was on display for all to see at the 1st Form Art Exhibition on Monday 20 March. Parents were invited to the Art Department to view work that the boys had been working on recently. The exhibition featured three projects: collages, still life and self-portraits.
For their collages the boys looked at Elizabethan portraits during their visit to the National Portrait Museum. The boys chose to copy one of the portraits of Elizabeth 1st and these images were then used as the bases for their final collage. They used copies of Tudor fabric to create shapes and develop their picture.
For their still life project, the boys then took inspiration from Matisse and used oil pastels and inks to add vibrant colour to their own drawings. The drawings were then printed onto Tote bags and cards.
The boys very much enjoyed showing their parents and family members what they have been learning and creating in their Art lessons. Being able to see their final pieces on the wall presented like a real art gallery, was a fantastic moment for them.
