On Friday 10 March the 2nd Form delighted their parents and fellow classmates with poems and excerpts from literature as the final of their declamations took place in the Chapel.
All boys in the 2nd Form learnt a piece of writing with 15 boys being chosen for the final and Head of English, Mr David Evans, adjudicating the event.
Pieces included “Please Mrs Butler”, by Allan Ahlberg, “The Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll and “All my Great Excuses” by Ken Nesbitt.
All the boys did very well with Mr Evans saying that choosing a winner was a very difficult decision to make. In the end, it was Harry J with “Zog” by Julia Donaldson who was given first prize. Harry was praised for his engaging storytelling and being able to memorise the entire story and recite it perfectly.
Arthur D came in second with “The Road not Taken” by Robert Frost and Charlie N was third with “My Shadow” by Robert Louis Stevenson.
