Making Music

09 February 2017

Caldicott boys were given two chances to showcase their musical talents this week.

On Saturday 4 February boys came together to perform in the Chapel to family and friends.  All the boys were well prepared, fluent and confident in their playing. Particular congratulations go to those boys who were playing for the very first time in public and special mention to Arnaud D and Tiarnan O (5th Form) who accompanied two guitarists for their performance. There was a wide repertoire from pianists, flautists, guitarist and other instruments.

On Thursday 9 February the boys played in a small recital in Centenary Hall at lunch time. Once again many different instruments were on show such as the piano, saxophone, trombone and violin with pieces of music ranging from Grades 1 to 5.  The Junior Choir finished the concert with a rousing rendition of “The Bare Necessities” from the “Jungle Book”.

Director of Music and Performing Arts, James Wild said “Having our talented musicians perform is a fantastic way for them to grow in confidence and get excited about music. It also shows other boys the wide range of musical instruments which they can learn at Caldicott.”
