Boarding At Caldicott
Life upstairs at school is relaxed and fun. With over 100 boys living on the various corridors there is obviously a need for routines and lists, but there is a homely atmosphere and boys feel that they are part of an extended family. Boarding provides the opportunity to develop personal skills, build confidence and make lifelong friendships.
There are no separate boarding houses at Caldicott – when it’s time for bed, you simply come upstairs to your dormitory on the first floor of the main school building.
As well as the Headmaster and his wife who have a house onsite, the evening pastoral team consists of Houseparents; Mr and Mrs Langley, Matrons, School Nurses and Corridor Staff. Evening activities are provided by teachers, many of whom also live onsite and these give the boys opportunities to try new activities and gain new experiences.
Mr Charles Langley and his wife Mrs Kirsty Langley are the Boarding Houseparents and they live in Grey’s Close, one of the houses on the school site, with their daughter Thea and son Wilf. Mr Langley teaches in the geography department and is Head of Cricket.
