Our 4th form showcased their drama studies this year over two afternoons last week, producing some wonderful performances! In the Autumn term they developed their physical expression on stage by looking at mime and the work of Marcel Marceau. They then created their own improvisations using Trestle Masks and followed this by studying the voice in performance, working with the silent movies of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. In the Spring term they enhanced their studies in English by exploring Shakespeare in performance, commemorating 400 years since the bard's death. The performances were a collection of scenes, monologues, duologues, and improvised sketches. A number of boys had taken on the roles of directors as well as performing and introduced their work. Everyone gave it their all up on stage and provided some thoroughly entertaining performances. Bravo!
