World Book Day

03 March 2016

Today we were extremely lucky to have author Matt Dickinson visit us for World Book Day. During the morning he gave a fantastic talk to the whole school – entertaining boys and staff with stories of his adventures on Mount Everest and in the Antarctic. He talked of his journey, giving details of frightening and inspiring episodes and the audience was enthralled.

The boys got to choose a book of their own and have it signed. They are now avidly reading them all around the school. They will also each receive a World Book Day token so that they can go to their local bookshop and claim their free £1 book.

To celebrate World Book Day teachers have ‘decorated their doors’, turning their classroom doors into book front covers or characters from their favourite books. It’s fantastic to have a buzz about the school with everyone commenting on and discussing their favourite stories and authors.
